Prayer Update from Ted and Diane Holzmann (last update May 7, 2003)
Church Planting with TEAM in
Neuburg (on the Danube), Germany
Dear Prayer team, family and
friends,
Thank you for your continued
prayers. We have felt their power in the following ways:
 |
Peter and Martina F. – Peter chose to
take a hard step of obedience to God as he approached the wedding
day. Ted had confronted him on a moral issue and he responded to
God’s admonition. PRAISE God for that. They were lawfully married
Friday, June 13th, and six of us from church stood outside
the Rathaus (city hall) to give them a spontaneous reception (along
with other family/friends – picture attached). They were surprised
and thankful that folks from church (especially Ted and I) would
come. Their sporadic church attendance and discontinuation of the
pre-marital counsel concern us. PRAY for them, especially that
Martina comes to understand what grace is all about, and to
surrender her life to God. |
 |
Birgit K. continues to grow strong. She
was baptized July 15th (picture attached), along with three others
from Neuburg and 12(!) from Ingolstadt. Her mother joined her in
church this past Sunday. When her dad tried to tease about how the
sect they had visited, mother confidently resolved all further
debate on that score: “I found nothing wrong, they even prayed the
Lord’s Prayer.” PRAY for Birgit – she intends on formally
withdrawing her membership from the Catholic church next week to
become a member of our church – and for her parents. |
One of our small groups is making
active plans to offer the Alpha-Seminar in the fall. They are praying,
planning, and inviting now. PRAY for their efforts and that the whole
church (other home groups) will catch the vision for evangelistic
outreach.
Falk N. approached Ted at the
baptismal service to accept Ted’s offer of a discipleship relationship.
PRAY for wisdom as they meet for the first time on Tuesday, August 5th.
PRAISE – the 3 evenings for
married couples was a real help for many couples. Each evening we had a
chance as a couple to talk through a variety of topics as a couple right
then and there. The last evening was a candlelight dinner where each
couple was at their own table and the table conversation was led by a
series of questions along a topic chosen by the couple themselves. It was
well-received by all and there seemed to be wonderful discussions going on
all over the room.
PRAISE – Diane has now completed
½ of her Master’s in Pastoral Counseling! She crossed that line with
the completion of a two week intensive course on Acts – Revelation. She
started today on a correspondence course on the Gospels. The goal is to be
finished in May, 2005 at the conclusion of a semester at Columbia Int’l.
University.

REJOICE with us over our daughter,
Laura, who is recently engaged to Alex Crum (picture). They have set
January 18, 2004 as their wedding date. |
We thank God daily for your
prayers, love, and friendship. Thanks for being there!
Ted & Diane
