Prayer News from Ted and Diane Holzmann
Serving with TEAM in Neuburg, Germany
(last update was 2/29/04)

Hi everyone!

Usually we take several days to write one of these. I promised Diane I would do it in ˝ an hour so that I might honor her with some time just for us this evening!

Not two months ago we asked you to pray for these items:

- for clear leading in Neuburg as concerns the next pastor
- for clear leading for us as to our future place of work
- for the (now 4) Alpha guests who continue to come, hear and ask questions about a relationship with God
- for the timing of the whole transition, peace especially for us in the midst of the uncertainties

NEXT PASTOR: The man, Frank Berndt, with whom the elders were meeting right after that last update, was voted on unanimously FOR being called as the next pastor here! That was last Wednesday (4/7)!

CLEAR LEADING: God knocked me off my feet with short term back pain, just long enough for us not to be able to make that trip in mid-March to visit the cities in the old East and up to the Baltic Sea. Our focus therefore was forced closer to home. We met for the third time with a group of four couples (two also have children) Easter Sunday. The end of the story is: all ten of us unanimously agreed that working with them in Mainburg (here in Bavaria, only 50 miles to the South-East of Neuburg) should be our next place of ministry. It seems to be a wonderful match of our gifting and experience that will complement the work that they have dreamed of and prayed for in that region of Bavaria.

ALPHA GUESTS: Only 3 of the then 4 “regulars” continued week-by-week. One has given her life to Christ and is so eager in her growth. Another has shared everything she has learned with her husband, and they are now coming quite regularly to church. God is amazing!

TIMING: Well, now we know that too. The Berndt family wants to move into our home, so we need to be out in time for a fresh coat of paint, perhaps new carpets, and a bit of remodeling that Frank has in mind. They want to be moved in the beginning of August, for their children. We will have to move out during the first two weeks of July. Diane has already got the attic and Tim’s and Laura’s bedrooms all sorted and packed up!

WHAT NOW…

- Pray for stamina and inner peace through a hectic schedule over the next couple of months (including a 2 week trip to the States for our son, Tim’s, graduation from Cedarville on May 1st and some down time mixed with a couple of church visits during the week of May 3 to May 9.)
- Pray for a healthy transition for both the church and the Berndts.
- Pray for a strong finish and safe return to Germany for the Klassen family … our former interns who have been interns at our home church in Upstate New York since August. (Anyone interested in helping German nationals reach Germans in the former East Germany, here is YOUR chance! They are looking for supporters.

We are so greatly blessed to be here and to witness what God is doing. Rejoice with us! And THANK YOU for being a part of this adventure!

Serving together, with you,

Ted & Diane
