Prayer Update from Ted & Diane Holzmann (formerly Neuburg News).
Serving under TEAM Mission in Germany

Dearest Family and Friends,
We greet you from Columbia, South Carolina!
Many may have wondered if we dropped off the edge of the earth. Not the case. A far better analogy is Rick Warrens: surfing the waves of Gods grace. We have never experienced a more pressed and shaken down richness or business than in these past months since you last heard from us. We look forward to sharing details over the next weeks about what we experienced and what we are doing now. At this moment we primarily want to re-establish contact.

Right up front: THANK YOU for not forgetting to pray for us, even when you did not hear from us. Without Gods presence and strength, we dont know how we would have survived.

This is our first time in the South East. We are open to weekend visits to those of you within a 350 mile radius. Get in touch, so we can make a date!

THUMBNAIL SKETCH:
Most significantly, as one woman recently wrote: From the last letter I read I gathered that you have worked yourself out of a job, à la the apostle Paul.  Fantastic.  Yes, on July 4th the congregation in Neuburg bid us a formal farewell. The new pastor was there for them on August 1st. And we consider it an unbelievable privilege to have been part of this church planting adventure over the past eight years.

The very next week we conducted a joint baptismal service Neuburg and Ingolstadt in which Ted baptized four from Neuburg. Ted was particularly excited to baptize the first two teenagers from Neuburg families.

We had already been slowly moving out of our home during the month of June. Even while Diane was attending an intensive two-week course, RPI student, Dan Vissani, was visiting. He got exposed to a LOT of different ministry experiences during his few weeks in Germany, and was very helpful in disassembling furniture. On July 3, the day before the Farewell, a team of helpers packed the remaining furnishings and belongings into a rented truck, and all was placed in a garage in our future ministry location, Mainburg. There it will wait our return in July 2005.

From July 3rd until August 28th we were…

- in Mainburg, getting to know our future team.

- in Thailand, for a worldwide conference of TEAM Mission leaders, marking the end of a 10 year long organizational remodeling, and setting some direction for important issues for the next few years. We also enjoyed a on week of vacation after the conference.

- in Mainburg for a few brief days of final goodbyes, counseling and disposing of our car

- in Virginia for a week of de-compression with George & Dee (Thanks again!) at a beautiful timeshare resort, finally to land …

- in Columbia, SC with two days to set up housekeeping prior to registering and the start of classes for Diane.

Summary: We were living out of our suitcases from July 2 to August 29. While we experienced much, we were very happy to unpack them and store them away.

 THANKS:

- to God for his amazing grace to us and to the church in Neuburg, that a new, healthy church exists.

- for physical strength and health through all the stress of travels and change.

- for Gods incredible provision of a place to live and of a church in which to worship and fellowship here in Columbia.

REQUESTS:

- grace to cooperate with Gods working in our own lives, as we refresh ourselves and as we counsel and mentor others both locally and in Germany.

- wisdom for Ted as he shares with our TEAM Mission colleagues in Germany about the key issues from the Thailand Conference

- continued health and stamina for Diane (susceptible to lung problems) as she pursues her studies.

Thank you, for being there. We would like to establish a closer contact with more of you while here. If there are specific things we may be praying for you, please share them.

Serving together,
Ted & Diane
