& Juli Kautzmann... with
the Latin
American Training Center

July 1, 2001
God continues to bring us the resources we need to make
His project, LATN (The Latin America Training Network), a reality. Here
are two recent examples:
Ø In
the last month, we nearly doubled our staff, adding five new missionaries,
most of which will work full time for LATN. All of these are fluent in
Spanish and have years of experience in Latin America. Two of them will be
moving to Costa Rica in six months, two more will be here within a year,
Lord willing.
Ø God
has sent us an professional fundraiser who will approach foundations for
us, asking for special grants. Robert Perea is a committed Christian who
has experience raising funds for a university in Miami. He came to us
asking if he could help because he is impressed with LATN. He has access
to sources of funds that most missionaries know little about. As a
project, LATN needs a heavy investment of up-front, one-time gifts from
churches, individuals and foundations. We missionaries will approach the
churches and individuals, while Robert will cover the foundations. We need
all the help God sends us.
In June we gathered most of the LATN staff for a retreat here in San Jose.
They came from Peru, Chicago, England and Miami. Ben Sawatsky, the
executive director of our Mission, attended as well. It was a Time of
planning, vision stretching, and making sure everyone is "singing
from the same sheet of music." This is especially important for a new
project like LATN with staff in several countries. On returning to
Minneapolis, the Assistant Executive Director of our Mission wrote: LATN,
"is one of the most significant developments we have had in the EFCM
in a long time."
Please be praying for:
The funds to buy a great office building/recording studio in Costa Rica
for $155,000
Thank you for your prayers and partnership with us.
Yours for the whole family,
Ted
