Ted

America Training Network

Dear Friends,
An hour ago I arrived
in Venezuela. I'll be here for a week teaching an intensive course to
first-year students at the Evangelical Seminary. I was a teacher there
from 1994-96. It's great to see old friends again, but I don't like
leaving my family behind in Costa Rica.
But while I'm here I
can continue teaching my other class using the Internet. That course has
students in Costa Rica, Peru and Venezuela. Actually, a Peruvian student
is visiting the US right now, but he is continuing his studies as he
travels. This is our first full-scale test of this course and now we are
about half way through the semester. They received a package in the mail
containing a CD with my lectures recorded on it and about 2000 pages of
reading to choose from (they don't have to read all of it!). The students
can take this course from anywhere in the world but still feel part of the
group because they discuss topics together in online forums. While I'm
here in Venezuela, I'll be meeting with the Venezuelan students in this
course to hear their advice about how it can be improved. These are
exciting days, because we are already hearing that this course is working
very well for the students and that they are teaching some of the material
now in their own churches. The same reports are coming in for our other
pilot course, taught by Dr. Jack Lilley.
The family is healthy
and doing very well. Sarah has been mostly depression free for several
months, Sam's sugar is under control and Juli has no sign of cancer. Her
doctor was concerned a couple of months ago, but tests came out negative.
Thank you for your prayers!!
Please pray:
1. The family will
stay healthy and remember that the Lord is responsible for that.
2. The Internet course
would have a great impact not only on these students but also on the
churches and organizations they lead.
Thank you so much for
your partnership.
Yours,
Ted, for the Kautzmann family
